While you’ve heard nothing from mainstream media except the circus around Brett Kavanaugh, the liberals have continued their relentless assaults on our personal freedoms. The heart of the battle always revolves around guns, and that won’t change until they disarm each and every one of us.
Continuing the line of predictability, the leaders in the charge against the 2nd Amendment are bureaucrats in California. This time, they’re after insurance.
The NRA’s Innovative Insurance
A while back, the NRA introduced their Carry Guard program. It takes the NRA’s traditional goal of helping citizens defend themselves and pushes it to the edge. Carry Guard offers advanced training; regular updates on the latest tips, tricks and technology; and an innovative specialty insurance. This isn’t intended to be a sales pitch, but the idea of firearm-discharge insurance is pretty brilliant.
The concept is pretty simple. If you are forced to use your weapon for self-defense, there’s a good chance that you are going to have a brush with the legal system. Even assuming your actions were perfectly legal and justified, you very likely will have to go to court. That visit isn’t free. In fact, the legal expenses for a genuine case of self-defense can be exorbitant.
Carry Guard addresses that issue and makes sure everyday citizens can afford to get proper protection from the heavy arm of the law. The 2nd Amendment is vital to our freedom, but it can’t litigate for you. In the end, you need money, and this is an insurance that puts it in reach.
The California Attack
You can see why the state of California might dislike such an insurance. We’ll get into the broader politics in a minute, but for now, you need to know that California is directly attacking Carry Guard insurance. They have issued a cease and desist order to the NRA, and they are trying to pull this insurance from more than 2,400 Californians.
California’s justification for this attack is rooted in typical bureaucracy. They say that it is illegal for any insurer to sell within the state’s borders without registering with the state first. Since the NRA isn’t on their list, they can fine the organization for every single insurance transaction made by a Californian.
It sounds like a clean legal trap, but as always, it’s not so straightforward. For starters, California no longer has absolute control over state-level insurance because of changes made to Obamacare over the last two years. That’s the first loophole.
The second and far more important loophole is that the NRA hasn’t sold insurance within California’s borders. Their insurance offices are not located in the state, and they have no means to specifically sell insurance inside of the state’s jurisdiction. Basically, every Californian with Carry Guard purchased it in another state.
California is clearly peeved by their inability to regulate the entire country, so you can expect this legal battle to go the distance. While it does, Californians with Carry Guard are going to remain in a precarious legal limbo.
The Real Goal
Obviously, the California government doesn’t really care if citizens are buying specialty insurance from another state. What they are actually against is armed citizens having the means to defend themselves in court. The easiest way to disarm the population without rewriting the 2nd Amendment is to over-prosecute defensive uses of firearms. If you don’t have a good lawyer, you can lose the battle regardless of what the law actually says.
That’s half the battle, at least. The other primary motivation is the simple opportunity to attack the NRA. It’s no secret that the liberals of the golden state absolutely despise the NRA and 2nd Amendment activists. If they can slap the NRA with a few million dollars in fines, why wouldn’t they? They can count it as a political victory and celebrate in their little echo chamber.
As is always the case with battles over firearms, the long-term consequences of this attack are disturbing. The leftists have shown repeatedly this year that they don’t care about law or precedent. They are ready to do literally anything to exert their will. The idea of disarming citizens through a series of kangaroo courts is anything but farfetched.
There is no easy way to win this war, but the first step is definitely to stay informed. Don’t let the liberals operate in the cover of darkness. Share this and all of their other dirty stories as far and wide as you can.

Unfortunately, it looks as if Gavin Newsom, the lapdog of moonbeam Jerry Brown, will be the next in line to further destroy the state of California, will be the next IDIOT in charge! I voted for John Cox myself (I live there), in hopes he might restore some sanity into the California government! This state is in VERY deep trouble!
What will be next from the CA government; a prohibition on citizens from buying insurance from out of state, a prohibition on receiving benefits, prohibition from being a member of the NRA?
There comes a time when it’s necessary to disobey unjust laws. The very reason for the 2nd Amendment is for citizens to protect themselves from tyrannical governments.

The state of California has no authority outside of its borders. Insurance is a LEGAL product they can no more ban because of what it covers than they can ban CAR INSURANCE for covering accident types they feel should never happen or specific cars they feel should be banned.
Add in that it is CALIFORNIA politicians who are actually fighting to make it ILLEGAL to own or carry a gun without such insurance no CONSTITUTIONAL court in this nation would uphold that the state has such a right as to order ONE OUT OF STATE INSURANCE company to stop selling their product it is not like the NRA is the only company that sells such an insurance policy.
Why can’t these damn liberal politicians realize they are playing right into the hands of terrorists who have already invaded our Country. One sure way is to be sure only pro-gun politicians are elected this November.

Your comments at the beginning are really misleading. This is not a new idea. I have had my insurance years before the NRA copied others already doing this. I am quite angry thY the NRA decided to compete with many of their supporters with this endeavor.

I DO NOT know how the Democrats perceive the N.R.A. as an enemy to America as it is an organization with more than 1 million ex-soldiers in its ranks. Is it because mot of those that consider the N.R.A. an enemy are Socialists fanatics that see evil everywhere but in their own mirror?
