Canada’s PM Justin Trudeau Just Outlawed 1500 Types of Firearms without Government Backing

Our neighbors to the north, Canada, should from here on out be referred to as the country that threw away freedom. Over the past few years, they have outlawed all kinds of speech. In fact, they even passed compelled speech laws. They have restricted freedom and access throughout the country. They’ve raised taxes, rewritten fundamental education and generally attacked the Canadian ability to pursue happiness at every turn.

Still, the Canadian government is not satisfied. They want to go further. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced a massive ban on firearms. He didn’t just outlaw a few handguns and rifles. No, the ban is so massive and all encompassing that it will probably go down in history as the moment Canada finally stopped being a free society.

New laws are now going into effect in Canada. These laws ban the sale and ownership of 11 classifications of “assault style” weapons. These classifications extend to more than 1500 types of weapons, and more than 125,000 legally owned firearms in Canada are now illegal. For a country with 7 million firearms in total, this means that almost 20 percent of all firearms in Canada have suddenly been outlawed. Anyone owning one of these weapons will be required to sell it to the state, and private sale of all of these weapons is to cease and desist.

For anyone who values freedom, this is a very chilling move. When you understand how this law came to be, it gets much, much worse. Canada is currently in a limited parliament session. Entirely due to the pandemic, legislators are meeting as little as possible right now. In the wake of that limited session, PM Trudeau made a unilateral move to pass this ban on firearms.

Dwell on this for a moment. This new ban is not the result of legislation. It wasn’t discussed in parliament, and it isn’t a representation of the will of the people. With the country in a state of emergency, a single man, at the head of the state, just outlawed one-fifth of all firearms in the country. It’s a power move, plain and simple. This is dictatorship 101, and if you think it can’t happen in Canada, you don’t understand the current state of the world.

For Americans, there are two important takeaways here. First is that Canada is in bad shape, and it’s getting worse every day. You’ve seen their freedoms eroded during the current administration. Now, they’re losing the fundamental ability to defend those rights for themselves.

The second takeaway is the importance of protecting our own Bill of Rights. The left is using the pandemic to go after as many freedoms as they can. Every inch we give them ultimately turns into miles of lost ground. You see, the 2nd Amendment isn’t what protects our rights. Instead, it’s a permanent justification for when we take care of that defense ourselves. There’s a lot of dictatorship going around right now, and plenty of people want to see America and the West fall. Too many of them are elected officials within the U.S. We might very well be reaching a point where we have to take this country back by force.

  3. Canada’s freedoms were always shaky at best. Having said that, America’s freedoms are also on shaky ground. Our freedoms here have been just one vote away from destruction for a very long time! The thing is, all of those diehard Socialists fighting so hard to repeal freedoms everywhere will still never be happy in the end.

  4. American Patriots will have no problem taking their country back by force if necessary, and Canadians should do the same!!

  5. When do we start. It’s time to start watering the Liberty Tree, I’m past ready, lets go. It’s time for war on Brandon, Kameltoe, Piglosey, Chuck Slimer, Adam, ‘shit etc.

  6. Canadians need to form vigilante groups. And so should Americans.
