Connecticut Accused of Treating Gun Owning Residents Harsher than Non Gun Owning Residents

Firearm owners increasingly feel like Progressives in America have no visible sense of fairness, equality or basic ethics. In the shouting match that is modern politics, it can be tricky to point to hard evidence of these facts. Well, today you’re going to get that hard evidence, and you aren’t going to like it.

The state of Connecticut has definitively proven that they treat gun owners and gun protestors differently under the same letter of the law.

A Progressive Gets Unhinged

Connecticut recently had a state-level hearing to discuss new gun laws and regulations. As you might imagine, residents from both sides of the aisle showed up to support their views. There was a good mix of card-carrying NRA members and purple-haired progressives. Among that crowd was one progressive in particular who lost her cool (big surprise, right?). She sent out a mass text saying, “If I had a gun, I’d blow away Sampson and a large group of NRA.”

For clarity, Senator Rob Sampson was one of the key political figures in the discussion. He’s a stout defender of the Second Amendment, so naturally his very existence triggered the progressives. Since this text spread like wildfire, it was ultimately brought to the attention of the authorities. They dismissed it without taking any legal action.

It’s arguable whether or not this was the right course of action. There’s a clear threat that names a victim and threatens a mass killing. According to Democrats, this constitutes terrorism, so authorities would be within their reach to make an arrest. On the other hand, free speech is important. You can draw your own line.

Meet Ted Taupier

What’s going to set your brain on fire is learning about this other story in Connecticut. Resident Ted Taupier was going through a nasty divorce. The judge presiding over the divorce, Elizabeth Bozzuto, gave an order that he could have no contact with his children for at least three months. As you might imagine, Taupier was angry with this decision. He also sent a potentially threatening text, but he only sent it to one person. It was ultimately shared without his consent. It read, “Bozzuto lives in Watertown with her boys and Na! … There [are] 245 [yards] between her master bedroom and a cemetery that provides cover and concealment. They could try and put me in jail but that would start the ringing of a bell that can be undone.”

The parallels between this text and the previous are pretty obvious. Despite the similarity, Taupier was arrested at the hands of multiple SWAT teams. By his estimate, at least 30 law enforcers came to his house to arrest him. All of his firearms were seized and his bail was set at $1 million. He was never charged with a crime.

Stop for a minute and review this. Connecticut used a red-flag law to arrest a man, seize his property and effectively fine him $1 million without ever charging a crime. According to Connecticut law, he did nothing wrong, but this was still the outcome.

Thought Police and Wrongthink

Now, let’s really compare these two cases. One saw no follow through at all. The other was clearly an overreach of government power. What was the real difference in the two texts? Well, one was more public and threatened multiple people. It also espoused popular leftist talking points. They love discussing mass murder and outright tyranny over anyone who disagrees with them. The other text was private, involved one person and expressed the “wrong” political opinion.

There’s no mistake to make here. Connecticut lawmakers fit the leftist bill to a tee, and they used that law to enforce thought crime. Taupier was not arrested for even allegedly committing a crime. He was arrested for thinking and texting the wrong thing, and Connecticut law eviscerated his rights and protected the law enforcers who wrongfully seized his property.

When people say that gun control is really people control, this is exactly what they mean. Red flag laws are especially dangerous because they’re specifically designed to circumvent due process. We’ve seen countless examples of how left-leaning local and state governments execute the law. They’ve never had a problem turning a blind eye to their own while they abuse their power to attack anyone who disagrees with them.

One more time for anyone who still doesn’t get it. Connecticut used an arbitrary, biased selection process to punish one of its own residents for wrongthink. When a progressive did literally the same thing, nothing happened. This is the modern left, and now you know why conservatives and gun owners feel like the world is unfair for them.

  1. Thouse are just a fue of his CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS that they trampeled on, Isure that a lawer could find more

  2. Total disgrace that a state has turn to being nazis. So unamerica. What surprises me the most, is how many men have become cowards. No honor for the constitution. Puppets for Democrat party. To the women in that state, so do you have a brain? Do believe in freedoms? I guess not. All of these people in Connecticut , you are not Americans. You are brain dead fools who have no pride for America. Your thinking is the way Hitler started to destroy germany. I guess most don’t know history. Dumb down americans.

  3. A glaring example of Orwellian “Crimethink” mixed with unequal justice. CT residents don’t need to read “1984” because they are living it. “Injustice,” thy name is Connecticut.

  4. And you wonder why the SMELL of REVOLUTION is getting STRONGER everyday, can YOU smell it???

  5. SO the bimbo bitch stated….“If I had a gun, I’d blow away Sampson and a large group of NRA.”…but nothing happens to her, yet a gun owner is a bigger threat when he posts a text??!!!…………….These liberal progressives who pass themselves off as benign, peaceful and loving remove all doubt when they open up their mouth and display what is REALLY in their HEARTS. It is not the guns but what is in a persons heart. If they chose to use a car, truck sword, knife, etc, etc they WILL KILL. In typical neurotic LIBERAL fashion trying to apply a solution to the problem that has nothing to do with the problem.

The problem with the US is all the generational snot nosed brats who are the products of too much freedom, choice and hedonism brought about by their decadent and lazy lifestyle who have a tantrum whenever their lifestyle or views are not followed or agreed to.

The day is coming it is a not matter of IF but WHEN. A Civil War will come about between the urban areas of liberal bastions in liberal states that protect Socialists will cause enough consternation to make the MAJORITY of true americans to rise up and eliminate them with extreme prejudice.

Here is a parable: You got this lion. He’s the king of the jungle, huge mane out to here. He’s laying under a tree, in the middle of Africa. He’s so big, it’s so hot. He doesn’t want to move. Now the little lions come, they start messing with him. Biting his tail, biting his ears. He doesn’t do anything. The lioness, she starts messing with him. Coming over, making trouble. Still nothing. Now the other animals, they notice this. They start to move in. The jackals; hyenas. They’re barking at him, laughing at him. They nip his toes, and eat the food that’s in his domain. They do this, then they get closer and closer, bolder and bolder. Till one day, that lion gets up and tears the shit out of everybody. Runs like the wind, eats everything in his path. Cause every once in a while, the lion has to show the jackals, who he is.

  6. I agree but I must also disagree. The silly Leftist was more general in her rant and could/would never be able to carry it out physically or psychologically. Taupier on the other hand was very focused and too specific about the how and already possessed the means. all that being said I believe that CT law enforcement did over react. a personal visit was definitely warranted but at that stage certainly not arrest or confiscation. Red Flag laws are an abomination and allow too much personal interpretation which makes them doubly bad. Taupier’s reaction to the ruling demonstrated why the female judge was or seemed to be biased against him. not excusing her just trying to look at the facts presented in a clear manner. Am I surprised by the over reaction by CT? No absolutely not. However, s responsible gun owners it is upon us to remain calm and collected as we should be doing when we handle our weapons.

  7. This is a clear example of creeping communism, or Nazism, or fascism, or socialism, or progressivism, or liberalism. They are all the same thing with different names, They can be summed up with one term, tyranny. Our founding fathers went through the same thing before the Revolutionary War. That is why there is a Second amendment. It is not to protect hunters. It is to protect the people against a tyrannical Government and/or foreign invaders. People who don’t understand this are morons. We can collectively refer to them as Democrats today. Hopefully we can get rid of many of them next November. We need to totally decimate the so called Democrat Party at the polls then. The Democrat Party is our greatest enemy at this point in time, and the Government in total is not far behind. If we don’t get rid of this socialism soon we will become a big example of Venezuela in the near future.

  8. Like the first comment said,,, get a good attorney,,, sue the crap out of the city,,, jury trial only,,, progressives hate government, so more than likely there will be a bunch on the jury since most don’t have anything to do anyway. & they’ll get out of their relatives basement for awhile.

  9. Quite simply stated, stupidity is an illness owned by the liberal left… you want our guns to control us, nothing more and nothing less. Morons in Connecticut’s legislation should be removed as being a danger to the people of the state and the rest of America… stupidity can’t be fixed, it can only be bred out or eliminated by force… I think force is the only way the left understands, and am more than happy to oblige them if required!

  10. WHERE IS MY PROTECTION UNDER THE AMENDMENTS???
This is How SHADY, UN-TRUTHFUL HYPOCRITICAL People/Big Business RUIN A VETS REPUTATION!!!
I am a Disabled Combat Veteran of ( 2005-2006 )Operation Iraqi Freedom.
I am awaiting another VA claim from Jul 2014
    I have a CCW lic.
I am told I SCARED MGT because I am a Member of the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association!!!
I have been working for KR_oger co as a Butcher, for Over 28 yrs. I have been Demoted 2 times due to my Physical injuries, I am no longer able to do the job I did before I went to Iraq.
I believe my Problems Started after I turned in my Military Retirement papers to my Mgr, and I was told my first Loyalty was to The KR_oger co. I said Not True #1 is GOD, #2 My Family then #3 was the KR_oger co. After that I was told by my manager to “TAKE that SH$T off your hat!!! THAT SH$T is an OIF Combat Veteran ribbons hat, a USA Flag pin and my Wounded Warrior pin!!!
I asked him to Apologize and he said “NO” I went to His boss and She said “ITS JUST A FLAG and PINS”
I was recently transferred to a new location because my supervisor (of 3 months time) had a problem with me confronting him on referring to me as a PATHETIC CRIPPLE and being LAZY, I also came to the aide of some part-time employee’s.
I have been at the previous location since 2008 with 2 different supervisor’s and 3 different store manager’s with NO PROBLEMS.
I am at the new location less than 3 weeks and I am terminated for being a Verbal Threat to EVERYONE! I talked about a video game called Assassins’ Creed, I also was overheard asking a fellow hunting enthusiast “I like to go to the shooting range (in the winter because I cant ride my Motorcycle) after work, would you like to join me?” They are treating me like I am going to SNAP from a PERCEIVED PTSD!!!
The KR_oger co wants ALL of my MILITARY, VA and Private Medical records.
Does Anyone have any ideas? Does Anyone know of ANY PRO Bono Lawyers that might be able to HELP ME?
I went through a mediation hearing with the UF_CW Union and the KR_oger co. I was portrayed as a Bat@#$% Crazy Combat Vet that would SNAP & KILL these 2 people, ALL their relatives, and neighbors, due to the PERCEIVED PTSD!
Well NOW You KNOW What My family has been going Through!!!
I have been informed the KR_oger co has RETALIATED by Demoting a few of My Supporters!
    Thanks for your time.
P.S I was put away for a Mandatory 5 day stay at the Psych ward because I sent a Private email to another Combat Vet. The Police made my wife remove All of My Weapons Before I could come home. Now I am REALLY Unemployable for Safety Reasons. My Neighbors are Just Waiting for Me to SCREW Up So They can Call 911.

  11. So basically the one that actually made a direct threat who could still ILLEGALLY acquire a weapon and carry out that threat was not fined or arrested while a man who made a statement that could be interpreted as he could hide there and see his children despite the judges order is treated as if he made a direct threat.

“There [are] 245 [yards] between her master bedroom and a cemetery that provides cover and concealment. They could try and put me in jail but that would start the ringing of a bell that can be undone.””

Does not automatically equal a plan to harm anyone it could simply mean that he could SEE HIS CHILDREN in violation of the judges order without being noticed.

““If I had a gun, I’d blow away Sampson and a large group of NRA.””

This however is a DIRECT THREAT against a government official and the MILLIONS of members of the National Rifle Association members that are simply US citizens who banded together creating an organization to PROTECT their constitutional right to keep and bear (carry) arms in the wake of earlier gun confiscation and other laws politicians imposed that infringe upon that right. If not for them and the lawsuits we would still have to pay a $200 tax and pass a background check that most of congress could never pass just have a simple pistol. Just read the original National Firearms Act prior to its amendments and the revisions forced by lawsuits over its unconstitutional infringements that have happened in the DECADES since it was passed.
