The Democrats are a huge mess, but they aren’t dead yet. In the face of huge divisions over a number of issues, they continue to find one uniting ideal: gun control. They’re firing on all cylinders too. While some Democrats are drafting aggressive gun control rules, others are playing a subtle game. It’s the latter group that we need to scrutinize today. Their latest idea is nothing less than insidious.
The Proposal
Formally, House Democrats are pushing a bill that would fund specific research on gun violence. In technical terms, they want $50 million for public health research regarding gun violence.
They claim it’s important research because rules have prevented government funding from paying for research on this particular topic. Additionally, they say that we can’t solve the problem of gun violence until we deeply understand it.
Let’s look at this in more common terms. The Democrats want to spend $50 million on research that looks at sociological factors that relate to gun violence. They want to see why we have an ‘epidemic’ of gun violence. In fact, they’re suggesting that we use epidemiological research methods and tools to look at the problem.
If you only look at it at face value, you might fall for the trap. The words sound fairly reasonable. Maybe a little research could help us figure out how to mitigate gun violence. The problems arise when you look deeper. This entire proposal is a crock, and you’re going to see all the reasons why.
The House of Lies
Every single premise behind this research is false. Let’s start with rules prohibiting federally funded research. They don’t exist. The closest thing is the Dickey Amendment, and it doesn’t say anything about research. It specifically says that the CDC can’t promote gun control. Objective research shouldn’t be promoting anything. It should just state facts and allow us to draw conclusions for ourselves.
The bigger lie is that we have a violence epidemic. It’s true that gun violence affects thousands each year, but the number of violent crimes (whether they involve guns or not) has been in decline for decades. It spiked in 2015 and 2016 (when Obama threw law enforcement across the country under the bus), but since President Trump took the reins, violence is back down.
The biggest lie of them all is that we don’t understand gun deaths. We do. We’ve spent billions of dollars on research into the subject, and when you look at a few simple facts, it’s painfully clear why we still have thousands of gun deaths each year.
Let’s start with the most common gun death: suicide. Liberals will try to tell you that suicide rates correlate with gun ownership. That’s a flat lie. Japan has the highest suicide rate in the developed world, and gun ownership there is virtually zero. The actual statistic is that gun suicides correlate with gun ownership. People who are determined find a way to kill themselves. If a gun is handy, it’s the first choice. If a gun isn’t available, they find another way. Decreasing gun ownership has never been causally linked to lower suicide rates. Ever.
As for homicide, we know all about that too. When you consider that roughly half of all homicides occur in just two percent of counties in the country, things get very clear very fast. You can guess which counties have all of the gun crime.
More importantly, roughly 90 percent of all homicide is linked to gangs or drug trade. Of those, more than half involve illegally obtained guns. Now, how could we have all of these statistics if this subject wasn’t thoroughly researched?
Behind the Veil
It doesn’t take much thought to understand what the Democrats really want. They don’t want more research. What they want is to be in control of research funding. Once they’re signing the checks, they can pressure researchers into “finding” the right results.
Part of this process involves discrediting the huge existing body of research we already have. They say federal research isn’t a thing to try and make you doubt the countless studies that all show gun control to be a bad idea. The have to convince the masses that identity politics are right, and the majority of gun crime isn’t carried out by minorities in inner city gangs.
If they can control the narrative, they can convince the majority of people to vote their own rights away all for the sake of security. It’s the oldest play in the book.
But, before you discredit the old play, note how many times it has worked. Every dictatorship in history followed this same path. The Democrats aren’t being idiots here. They’re sticking with what has worked time and again. Only vocal, determined and well-informed citizens can stop this course. Will you be one of them?
Of course the Dems want to take away our guns. They want the illegals to run roughshod over the citizens. Without our legal guns, we will be slaves to the gangs with illegal guns just like Central America and South America. We will also lose our freedom of speech, because those who have guns (the government, and gangs with illegal guns) will force their version of speech on those who do not have guns.
These as-s will give money for this but won’t secure the border with a wall. Let the illegals come and kill and destroy but we can’t defend ourselves.

Why haven’t Government Ethics Lawyers have not looked into this $50 Million could be used for adding better programs for the American people. They keep going at this rate, the people will vote you out. Where the common sense here we are so in debt and behind the power curve. But they can circumvent funds, that dont better our way of life. Look at all the homeless people, why is education not a priority and when should American history be demolished by selfish people that care only about they own gains this will not gain more votes but the opposite. The agenda has been clear for years. We have fallen prey to incrimentalism for years and we are nearly to the point of the boiled frog. We let them get away with Social Security, then something else and then something else and now here we are. The only recourse short of rebellion is to take back the election process. We need to be more proactive as conservatives and get the vote out. Why is it that a small majority of a small minority gets to decide? Complacency is the death of freedom. We need to get active and vote them all out. Take back our freedom before it is too late.
I don’t care for the idea that they will use tax dollars to fight against us. No way would I condone this waste. Build the wall.

I served this country for 12 years in the Army to fight for our way of life And now you want to take our RIGHTS away do you not know more than likely the reason we don’t ever have other military leaders attacker’s on our is becouse of the right to carry or have guns to protect ourselves so they don’t know how many of us have guns in homes in cars any where we might have to defend ourselves Taking away our rights is not going to save the average American .Becouse the law abiding people won’t be able to protect them self from the gangs and bad people because they won’t turn in their guns so if you’re going to take away our rights to bare arms then how You going to protect them from the gangs and bad.
