Michael Bloomberg Formalizes Anti-Gun, Climate Crisis Campaign Agenda

Former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg is running for president on the Democrat ticket. That means the Democrats are considering a billionaire who hates the Second Amendment and intends to use the White House to erode gun owner rights.

Bloomberg founded the anti-gun activist group Everytown for Gun Safety. He’s organized chapters for it in most states and introduced the activists to many state legislatures. Now we wants to push his gun control agenda at the federal level.

Bloomberg also has a huge bankroll with which to push his special agenda. Like billionaire Tom Steyer, Bloomberg intends to buy the Democrat nomination with a massive spending campaign to woo voters. To help further achieve this Bloomberg has seated members of state legislatures, several gubernatorial seats, and Everytown for Gun Safety offices doing his bidding at the state and local levels. That gives him the most effective grass-roots and local support, although bought by his own bankroll, than the member-funded NRA.

Bloomberg is a staunch opponent of the NRA and has been outspoken that part of his presidency would include invoking what he did in New York City in regards to eroding gun rights at the federal level.

Mayor Bloomberg managed to get New York City to enact some of the most draconian gun laws in the land. Gun owners cannot have loaded firearms, or even use their firearms in self-defense without risking major charges. They also cannot transport their firearms to local gun ranges or to go hunting with buddies on other states, thanks to New York City laws.

Those laws are before the Supreme Court, which has leaned against similarly restrictive measures in Chicago and Washington D.C.

Bloomberg plans to make what Democrat lawmakers done in California, and what he tried to do in New York the standard federally. California is a gold standard to Bloomberg because it is illegal to carry a loaded firearm or bring ammunition into the state. It even is illegal to for those under age 21 to buy handguns or military-style rifles in California. Bloomberg conveniently ignores the fact that the state still has one of the nation’s highest rates of violent crime and mass shootings.

California also has the nation’s largest block of primarily liberal voters more receptive to Bloomberg’s politics. Bloomberg and federal lawmakers who oppose the Second Amendment count on California to give them a big advantage in Electoral College votes.

The same goes for New York State, and much of the East Coast states, as well as the West Coast. Bloomberg already has spent a small fortune supporting anti-gun lawmakers at the local, state and federal levels. He intends to do the same as President, and counts on emotional appeals to get support in swing states.

Bloomberg plans to combine his emotional anti-gun appeals with emotional “climate crisis” claims, to woo more voters. Facts will not play a role in the upcoming presidential election. Emotional appeals and distorted propaganda will rule the land. Sane voters will need to duck their heads and think clearly about the choices facing them and vote accordingly. Bloomberg and Democrats hope that means the Second Amendment is about to be taken down a few notches at least.
