The news cycle was interrupted briefly last weekend by a tragic killing rampage in Nova Scotia, Canada. The story barely made headlines in the US, obviously, with all the other craziness going on. But naturally, the incident has led Canadian Prime Minister and blackface dress-up fetishist Justin Trudeau to call for a ban on “assault” weapons – even though there don’t seem to be any reports that the killer used any type of long gun in this bizarre massacre.
There was nothing typical about this incident. Everyone is labeling it a “mass shooting,” but very little about this story fits that profile, other than the fact that the murderer did shoot a lot of people. It didn’t happen at a school or a crowded shopping mall or another place where lots of potential victims tend to gather. It happened in a tiny town in Nova Scotia, the Canadian peninsula that sticks out into the Pacific Ocean to the south of Maine (the part that’s always erased on US maps).
The killing spree took place in an extremely rural area called Portapique. There’s nothing out there but farms and a few retirement homes along the coast. The population of the area drops down to around 100 in the winter months when snowbird retirees head south. It’s so rural that Google Street View doesn’t even have maps of all the roads.
The killer himself also doesn’t fit any sort of profile. He was a millionaire who owned a denture business. The killer apparently had his main home and business in Halifax, and a second home in the Portapique area where his killing spree occurred. He also had a bizarre fascination with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. The man had a car that he liked to show off to friends in his garage: A replica that he had painted to look just like an RCMP squad car.
And on Saturday night, the dude dressed in a police uniform and started driving around in the Portapique area, killing his neighbors while disguised as a cop. When he’d execute a family in a particular house, he’d then set the home on fire. This caused a ton of chaos as police and volunteer firefighters were responding to house fires in multiple rural locations. This went on for 14 hours.
When the cops realized they were looking for a killer in an RCMP vehicle, they called in helicopters to help with the search. The killer switched vehicles then, and the cops finally took him down in a shootout in the town of Enfield, just to the north of Halifax.
We don’t know if the victims were randomly chosen, what the killer’s motive was – only that he was just plain nuts. He killed 22 people and the death toll may rise from there as police sift through the homes that he burned down.
The identified victims include a female RMCP officer, two healthcare workers who were employed at nursing homes, a schoolteacher and an American couple from New Mexico who had just retired and moved to their dream cabin in Portapique.
There are no reports that anyone who encountered the killer that night survived, up until the police took him out. It looks like he used the uniform and the fake patrol car to get people to open up their doors late at night. Everyone was at home due to the stay-at-home orders over the Chinese coronavirus.
While this was an extremely atypical shooting event, it has garnered a typical response from politicians: Ban semiautomatic rifles, which have been in existence since the 1700s. Trudeau says that the Canadian Parliament had been planning to ban “assault” weapons anyway, but then was interrupted by the Chinese virus. Now that a mass killing by a psychopath has taken place (apparently without the use of any “assault” weapon), Trudeau says they will most assuredly implement the ban at some point in the future when things call down.
As you may recall, the previous mass casualty incident in Canada was a handgun-only incident, which started Canada on this big push to ban semiauto long guns. It pretty much doesn’t matter what type of tragic killing spree occurs – the anti-freedom globalists have a one-size-fits-all solution. Ban you from owning a semiautomatic rifle.
This story is a good reminder of your rights as an American: Just because a police officer or someone who looks like a police officer knocks on your door, doesn’t mean you have to open the door. You can talk to them through the door. They won’t like it if they’re real police, but that’s too bad. You do not have to open your front door to speak to them unless they have a warrant.
