Hawaii Pushing for State-Sponsored Anti-Gun Propaganda

If you really stop and think about it, it’s just plain miraculous that we still have the right to bear arms in 2019. Sure, we need to give credit to the founding fathers and their foresight, but that alone isn’t enough. Liberal gun grabbers are ruthless, tireless, creative and entirely unscrupulous in their efforts. They find genuinely brilliant ways to subvert the conversation, and every time they do, more Americans fall into their trap.

If we’re being completely honest, only the equally tireless and uncompromising efforts of a very small minority have kept the gun grabbers at bay. Well, this new tactic might tip the scales.

The New Bill

The Hawaii legislature is hard at work on their 2019 gun-control agenda. It isn’t the goal that’s new, that’s always been the same—to take the state’s residents firearms away. Instead, it’s the tactic that represents a shift from the tried and true methods. To simplify, Hawaii is trying to create a state-sponsored propaganda outlet.

In better detail, this comes in the form of HB 1541. The bill is filled with legal terms and obfuscated language, but if you get passed the bull, it boils down pretty neatly. The bill seeks to establish the Hawaii Gun Violence Prevention Center. You can already see how the propaganda is at work. This name sounds nice. After all, everyone wants there to be less gun violence.

The bigger issue can be found in a specific reference. HB 1541 claims that there is a federal ban on gun research. Because of that ban, the state of Hawaii must use their own funds to circumvent this problem and produce reliable research. This subtle bit of language tells us everything we need to know about HB 1541. It isn’t trying to do real research. It wants to push gun control.

Federal Law

This is better understood by examining federal law. Liberals love to claim that federal gun research is outlawed. That’s a deliberate lie. When they make this claim, they’re referring to the Dicky Amendment. Passed in 1996, this is federal legislation that specifically bars federally-funded research from making recommendations that go against the Second Amendment.

In practice, the Dicky Amendment stopped a CDC initiative that was aimed to recommend lots and lots of gun control. What’s important to understand is that the law in no way impeded research. It simply bars government agencies from recommending we violate the Constitution.

It’s easier to understand this when you consider CDC research that has happened more recently. In 2010, Obama charged the CDC with researching gun violence. It was paid for by federal dollars, and it didn’t violate the Dicky Amendment. The reason you never hear about this is because the CDC discovered something that liberals have worked hard to keep quiet. Guns save far more lives than they take.

A Fight for Legitimacy

So, gun research can be paid for by the federal government. In fact, it’s something that happens all the time. FBI statisticians analyze gun crime on a yearly basis. Clearly, the left is lying about gun research. Why then was it baked into HB 1541?

The answer to this question is tied to the quest for legitimacy. You see, the only research that suggests gun control will reduce gun crimes comes from overtly biased sources. Mostly, it all comes from Bloomberg’s think tank that he personally funds. It’s clear to anyone with a brain that it isn’t trustworthy.

The new Hawaii legislation is trying to overcome this stigma. If they can produce “research” that calls for gun control and has a government stamp of approval, it will be far more compelling for swing voters who haven’t made up their mind on the issue.

It’s imperative that you recognize this goal at the base level. Federal research has clearly demonstrated that gun control is a bad idea. Unfazed by the truth, Hawaii legislatures are trying to use tax dollars to spin their own narrative and make it look convincing. This is straight out of the Soviet handbook. The state of Hawaii is taking steps to follow communist propaganda methods. We can’t condemn this hard enough.

If we don’t shine a bright light on this dark effort, these monsters just might succeed in convincing uninformed Americans to maliciously attack their own freedoms. To call this anything less than a crisis is a dangerous understatement.

  1. If we (the people) allow government entaties to use tax money to produce false proof on the gun issue, what will be the next subject they decide they don’t like.

  2. LET US TAKE AWAY THEIR STATE HOOD AND ALL THE BENEFITS AND TURN THEM BACK AS A TERRITORY. IF THEY WANT TO STAY AS A STATE THEN THEY “MUST” FOLLOW THE CONSTITUTION, WITH NO EXCEPTIONS.

  3. Probably because of the idiots in office from Hawaii. Hirono is a blithering fool. She can barely converse and sure doesn’t know very much. Not sure what level of intelligence is required to get elected from there. Would be interested how many of their congressmen support the new Green Deal as I don’t know of any trains or highways from the mainland to their state. They probably think they walk on water but by the time they get there they will have found out global warming was a hoax by their crooked buddies in Wash DC

  4. If you own firearms & want to take a vacation, go somewhere else than Hawaii, it’s not that cool anyway, it’s expensive & the natives don’t care for tourists anyway…
