The mainstream media is going out of its way to hype the Ahmaud Arbery case that we told you about a few days ago, while ignoring a race-based mass shooting that happened in Delaware.
To put it into a bit of perspective about why this is so strange, the Arbery shooting incident happened back in February, before most Americans knew what the coronavirus was. The mass shooting in Delaware, on the other hand, just happened and involved a 6-hour standoff and gun battle with police in a ritzy suburb.
If you missed the earlier story about Ahmaud Arbery, details and video are here. The bottom line is, it was a bad shoot, but it probably does not rise to the level of first-degree murder charges for the father and son who confronted Arbery at gunpoint after he was caught trespassing.
And in case it needs to be said, if you take a free NRA training course, for concealed carry or basically anything else, one of the things you’ll be taught is that a property crime is almost never a valid reason to break out a firearm.
It probably won’t end well for you in terms of dealing with the courts. Just ask the father who never fired a shot in the Arbery incident, who has now been charged with first degree murder for political reasons.
Which brings us to the town of Bear, Delaware. Immediately after the father and son were arrested in Georgia in the Arbery shooting, a black man carried out a mass shooting at a Delaware veteran’s cemetery. According to eyewitness reports, the shooter jumped out of his Honda wearing all black and carrying “a scoped rifle.” We don’t know what kind of rifle it was but based on eyewitness reports that the media wasn’t curious enough to seek out, it sounds like it was a semiauto.
The suspect then walked up to an elderly couple who was visiting the grave of their son. First, he shot the 85-year-old woman and then her 86-year-old husband (both white), before running into the woods near the cemetery. He then proceeded to exchange gunfire with responding police for six hours, although he never managed to actually wound any police officers. A volunteer at the veteran’s cemetery ran to help the elderly couple. The wife was dead on the scene. The husband died in the hospital a few hours later.
SWAT teams and an army of cops arrived on the scene but the shooter held them off for most of the day. An eyewitness told the website The Red Elephants, “I know the guy had a lot of ammo. It seems as if he set himself up in the ditches with ammo because the police were saying that their drone could see him, but they couldn’t get eyes on him. He had to have this planned for a while because most people don’t know those woods like that.”
At one point the shooter tried to blast the police drone out of the sky. Six hours after the incident began, the shooter was dead in the woods. Police still have not released whether the guy finally offed himself, or whether he bled out from a cop-inflicted gunshot wound. Either way, good riddance.
Other than a couple of initial mentions on Fox News, the national mainstream media hasn’t covered this story at all. MSNBC and CNN didn’t even mention it. And we all know the reason why. They’re busy trying to smear America as a racist country where drooling white rednecks in MAGA hats shoot innocent “joggers” like Ahmaud Arbery in the streets. It’s very disruptive to that narrative if they have to talk about a black shooter who randomly murdered a harmless elderly white couple as they were visiting their son’s grave at a veteran’s cemetery.
Other than the identity of the shooter – 29-year-old Sheldon Francis – we don’t know anything else about this incident. Police haven’t released a motive for why he decided to go to a veteran’s cemetery and gun down innocent elderly strangers before engaging cops in a six-hour standoff.
Was this a media-motivated shooting? Did the mainstream media trigger this guy into pulling the trigger because of their dishonest coverage of Ahmaud Arbery? No one seems to want to ask that question!
The only good news about this horrible story is that the media is not calling for an assault weapon ban because of it. Wouldn’t want to disarm the Sheldon Francises of the world.
