Nationwide Gun Homicide Rate Decreases Again Under Trump

One of the things that helped Donald Trump win the 2016 election was that the murder rate in America’s cities skyrocketed under the racial hatred policies of President Barack Obama. From 2014 to 2016, the national murder rate skyrocketed by 24%.

This was entirely due to Barack Obama stirring up the black communities in America by declaring that Trayvon was just a good boy who was gonna go to college, and that Michael Brown was a “gentle giant” with his hands up, rather than a hulking high-on-drugs menace trying to murder a police officer.

Thankfully, things began returning to normal in black communities immediately after the new Commander in Chief stopped declaring that all police officers are racists who kill black children the moment they spot them on their skateboards. The 2018 FBI Crime Statistics have been released, and it has some good news in it.

During the second year of Donald Trump’s presidency, fewer blacks were murdered by other blacks. Overall homicides declined another 6.2% in 2018. We’re still not back to our normal, pre-Obama murder rates, but it’s getting better.

There’s not really anything surprising to relate to you from the 2016 crime statistics. However, it’s good to have fresh information at your fingertips. That way, when Thanksgiving arrives and your schoolteacher aunt with an Elizabeth Warren bumper sticker starts spouting off about WEAPONS OF WAR on America’s streets, you can hit her with some facts while you enjoy your pumpkin pie. In 2017, there were 16,499 homicides in America. In 2018, that number fell to 15,498 – a decrease of 1,001 homicides over the course of a year.

Despite the current media narrative that white males are constantly murdering black people in our patriarchal racist country, they’re not doing a very good job at it, according to the FBI. As it turns out, blacks are still murdering a lot of blacks. Despite being 13% of the US population, blacks committed about 55% of the murders in America, in cases where the race of the murderer was known.

Whites accounted for 8.2% of murders of blacks. And that number is high, because a lot of municipalities lump Hispanics in with whites for some reason. Percentage-wise, murder seems to be a very segregated activity in America. Blacks mostly stick to murdering other blacks, and whites stick to murdering whites.

Since blacks account for more than half of murders in the country every year, you’d think that would to present a very obvious solution to the gun-grabbers. But don’t voice that solution at work tomorrow, because it would result in you being immediately fired for a hate crime.

Surely, the FBI Crime Statistics will show that most of the murders in America are committed by rifles, proving that Congress must ban assault weapons, right? Like those AR-15s that Rep. Sheila Jackson-Lee (D-TX) was blathering about recently. You know, the AR-15s that shoot .50 caliber bullets and weigh as much as 10 heavy moving boxes?

As it turns out, rifles were only used in 297 homicides in 2018, compared to 6,603 murders committed by handguns. Out of the more than 10,000 homicides where the FBI identifies a weapon in the statistics, rifles only account for 2.9% of homicides. There are actually several categories of “murder weapon” that account for more murders than rifles. For example:

• Sharp, stabby kitchen implements: 1,515
• Hammers and similar blunt objects: 443
• Bruce Lee-style (deadly fists, feet, etc.): 668
• Other: 900

So, kitchen knives are used five times more often than rifles for murders in America, and fists are used twice as often. You’re 25% more likely to be murdered by someone with a hammer than you are by someone with a rifle.

I’m really curious about what the “Other” category entails, since the FBI does break the total murders down to include strangling (70), asphyxiation (90), forcibly overdosing someone with drugs (78), setting people on fire (72), poison (5) and throwing someone out a window (4). With all those bases covered, what’s the “Other” involve?

Anyway, there you have it. According to the FBI, rifles don’t account for very many murders at all and blacks still account for most of the homicides in America.

Oh, and the murder rate is dropping because President Trump isn’t running around blaming cops for black-on-black homicides of good boys who were gonna go to college.
