The Hudson H-9: Over-Hyped or Hell Yea?

By far one of the most-hyped guns to hit the market in the last year is the Hudson H-9. This semi-automatic handgun was all the rage at the 2017 Shot Show, with people fawning over its innovative design. The question is, does the Hudson H-9 live up to the hype or is it just another fairly typical handgun?

One of the features that has got people excited about the Hudson H-9 is its lowered bore axis. In case you’re unfamiliar with what having a low bore axis means for a gun, the lower the bore axis a firearm has, the less the front of the gun climbs up after each shot. Ideally, this would mean that a person shooting the Hudson H-9 would experience less felt recoil and would be able get their sights back on target faster between shots and quickly put accurate shots downrange. For a self-defense scenario, this ability to fire rounds quickly and accurately at the same time could prove to be life-saving.

Aside from the lowered bore axis, there are a few other unique features that really set the Hudson H-9 apart. Just by looking at the gun, you can tell that it’s a bit different from the standard semi-automatic handgun.

To see the Hudson H-9 in action and to find out whether its innovative features really do live up to all the hype, be sure to check out Demolition Ranch’s review of the Hudson H-9 in the video below.

  1. not worth the price for so little difference because with practice you can shoot just as good with a full weight gun

  2. The gun looks pretty cool, I’ll give them that, but other than the fact that it doesn’t rise as much as some others, I can’t see paying $1100 US for it. I’m not one who jumps on every new thing.
