If you’ve noticed, the squabbling between Nancy Pelosi and the new squad of young progressives hasn’t stopped. They continue to go back and forth, and this is a wonderful thing. The lack of unity and cohesiveness in the Democratic Party right now is hurting their entire agenda, and they’re unlikely to pass any significant legislation before 2021—including anything else that restricts gun rights.
The infighting is extremely important, yet many don’t really understand why they’re fighting so much. Nancy Pelosi certainly isn’t a moderate, and she and the squad tend to agree on a lot of policy points. The fighting isn’t really based on Pelosi feeling threatened by them either. No, this runs deeper, and when you look deeply at this division, it gets a lot scarier. But, it also represents an amazing opportunity.
The Great Divide
Let’s not tell fairy tales. The left and Democratic agenda have been aiming for socialism for a long time. They haven’t always been open about it, but the evidence is clear. All of their policy hurts the economy.
This is either deliberate, or they’re so bad at basic economics that it’s the inevitable outcome. Either way, every time Democrats get to pass economic legislation, we all pay the price and take another step towards socialism.
Here’s the thing. There’s a huge schism in the party right now. They aren’t arguing about whether or not they should make America socialist. They fight over how to do it.
The older, established Democrats are committed to the long con. They’re ok with a slow, inexorable march that gets us to socialism with incremental steps.
The younger, millennial Democrats don’t like this plan. True to their generation, they want the pay off now, so they’re rushing headlong down that socialist road, and they’re being extremely open about it. Ultimately, this is why AOC and Pelosi have been fighting so much this year.
This divide appears on every policy issue, but gun control is particularly interesting (and frightening). If you pay attention to policy, the older Democrats are actually the ones maintaining pressure to install more gun control. AOC and the squad pay lip service to taking away guns, but it’s not their primary issue. The legislation they introduce is almost exclusively economic in nature.
Before we go on, it’s important to clarify. The young Democrats will absolutely vote to take away your 2nd Amendment rights. That’s not what’s in question. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez went on and on after the mass shooting in New Zealand earlier this year saying its ridiculous the U.S. can’t pass stricter gun control laws like the Kiwi’s. It’s just interesting to note that they aren’t prioritizing this issue.
Meanwhile, Boomer Democrats seem to care more about gun control than most other issues. There’s an important reason for this. They are true believers in Marxism and the Communist Manifesto. If you look at the history of socialism, the people have to be disarmed before you tank the economy. Otherwise, you get a civil war.
The older Democrats realize this. They also understand that the left can’t possibly win such a war against an armed right. We all know how that story would end, and it’s why the older Democrats are more patient. They’ll chip away at capitalism, but until the guns are gone, they’re smart enough not to move too aggressively.
Demonizing the Old White Guy
As always, the positions of AOC and the squad treat us to some rich irony. They’re so bent on hating old, white men that they’re now ignoring the teachings of Marx and Lenin. Those two guys laid out a step-by-step process to instill socialism. Both of their teachings explain the necessity of disarming the population. But, because they are old and white, the young Democrats have to ignore that advice.
Ultimately, this is a case where their stupidity works out in the country’s favor. We all know what happens when you push an armed population too far. We understand the failsafe against a radical push to socialism, and we stand ready.
In the meantime, this divide in the Democratic Party is nothing but an opportunity. We’ll capitalize on their infighting, and we’ll take this country back without having to fire a shot. The impatience and inexperience of young Democrats are the key to fully restoring conservativism in this country and keeping up with President Trump’s promise.
