ATF OK’s Drive Thru Gun Sales

While there’s no doubt that COVID-19 has killed people, this disease isn’t what we were promised. In February health officials were predicting 80% of the population would get the virus and 1.7 million Americans would die from it.

Then reality set in. The new numbers project a final death toll of less than 60,000. That’s less than the flu in the 2018-2019 season.

Yet, for this, we’ve shut down our country and destroyed millions of jobs. The cure is worse than the disease.

Worse than the economic fallout is that this outbreak is the exact excuse the socialists and extreme leftists have been wanting for years. They see this as an opportunity to seize control and take away Americans civil liberties.

Weirdly enough, it’s the federal government that was the first to fight back. You can see all of this just by looking at bans on firearm sales.

Closed Gun Stores

One thing about COVID-19 is that it quickly showed us who the authoritarians are. Lots of governors forced businesses to close. Then, a handful used the situation to go after political interests. Just look at the clampdown on gun shops in California. It’s enlightening.

Since panic and desperation are empowering politicians to infringe on rights, it’s important to know how to fight back. One of the most important things in this time is to be prepared. We all need to be armed with at least a minimal cache of rounds.

The ATF Fights Back

It might seem weird, but it’s the ATF that has struck the first blow against tyrannical governors. Backed by the Department of Homeland Security, the ATF has deemed firearm sales as essential on a federal level.

While governors and local governments can force stores to close to in-person foot traffic, the ATF has approved gun sales through drive-through distribution. That means gun sellers can still do background checks and follow the rules. Drive through is considered sufficient social distancing.

What it Means for You

States and the feds are fighting this out on multiple levels. The bottom line is that you might not be able to make purchases from your favorite gun shop right now. It depends on whether or not your state’s governor is a tyrant.

The silver lining is that the federal government is (at least for now) showing sincere interest in protecting Second Amendment rights. It’s at the state and local levels where the tyranny is running wild. That shows us where to direct our efforts, and it tells us who should never be re-elected.

In the meantime, if you need new firearms, you might have to cross state lines to succeed. Be smart. Follow the law where you reasonably can. Now is not a time for good people to get arrested because you didn’t research firearm transportation rules in your state.

Purchasing weapons aside, it’s incredibly important to voice your dissent to the government. Local politicians need to know that their tyranny won’t be tolerated and that their positions are on the chopping block. If they won’t listen to reason, then we escalate our dissent to the ballot box. But, we can always try the easy way first.

  1. 60,000? According to data “…used by the UK Government, Johns Hopkins CSSE, the Government of Thailand, the Government of Vietnam, the Government of Pakistan, Financial Times, The New York Times, Business Insider, BBC…,” et al., the U.S. has suffered just over 600,000 deaths. Typo?

  2. The United States Of America used to be such a leader. Democrats have made us a cowardly disgrace to the world. Home if the brave! Land of the free! Not home of socialist government control! I won’t give up fighting for my country. Not now not ever. Stop ruining everything our forefathers fought so hard to gain!

  3. 60,000 is a little conservative but there is a tremendous difference between died with Covid and died from Covid , the from covid deaths were probably less than 100,000. I dont know anyone who died from Covid in this area.

  4. My eldest son is in advertising and lives and works on Cape Cod in MA. He meets with many hundreds of people each month while traveling the length and width of the Cape, and has told me that he has never met a person who has had Covid nor met anyone who has known anyone who has had it, or died from it.

  5. Just a reminder a genuinely deadly pandemic doesn’t require 24/7 advertising to remind you it exists.
Real pandemics don’t need marketing campaigns and endless propaganda….. But

    Psychological Operations DO.
