Attacks on Gun Rights Coming from Both Sides of the Aisle

If there’s one thing we’ve learned during President Trump’s time in office, it’s that Democrats have been driven to the far left. If we’ve learned two things, it’s that not all Republicans are on the side of freedom. In no area does this become more clear than on the topic of the right to bear arms.

This is why constitutionalists use a politician’s NRA grade to judge their adherence to true conservatism. Those who do not value the right of citizens to bear arms reveal themselves as elitists who do not believe people have the right to defend life and liberty at the most basic level.

The House of Representatives has now passed a law that would broaden the national background check system. The expansion would require anyone selling any firearm to any person to submit a background check.

This includes all private sales. It means any person selling any firearm to anyone will be required to perform the same background checks that licensed FFL gun dealers perform.

The wording of the law states that anyone who sells firearms as a way to supplement their income must submit the same kind of FBI background check application that licensed firearms merchants do. Defenders of the new law say that those who engage in irregular or rare private translations involving a gun will not be effected. However, it is clear that the ambiguity of the language makes it easy for prosecutors and judges to claim that any monetary transaction is a supplement to that person’s income.

All it takes is one prosecutor who decides that if the one time sale of a hunting rifle constitutes supplemental income, then that person can become a criminal. If such a prosecutor succeeds in putting his target in jail- then we have precedent. At that point, all private sales that do not include a background check will become punishable under the law.

This is the kind of strategy the left uses to advance its gun control agenda. That’s why the left is so adamant about appointing judges- because if they control the judges- they control the way laws are carried out.

Now that we understand this leftist tactic for pushing their anti-self defense agenda, let’s look at the conservatives who support laws like these.

Senator, Marco Rubio introduced a bill that spends taxpayer funds in order to pay off states that adopt “Red Flag” gun laws. These are local level measures that allow judges to order the confiscation of the firearms of specific persons based only on anonymous tips.

Under the red flag laws, if your neighbor gets angry at you and wants to get revenge, he or she can simply make an anonymous phone call to the police and say that they believe you cannot be trusted with your guns. Then, the police call a judge or magistrate who can issue a warrant to confiscate your guns.

In these red flag cases, people are having their guns taken away with no due process. The amount of loops a person has to jump through to have their guns returned is- as you can imagine- immense.

Now, unfortunately, President Trump has decided to side with Rubio and back the red flag laws.

There’s reason to believe that Trump can be moved on this subject. He is a man of the people, but he is also a lifelong New Yorker. Gun rights are a foreign idea to President Trump. He needs to be reasoned with.

But the problem goes deeper than just President Trump and Senator Rubio. Dianne Feinstein is now working with Trump’s new Attorney General in support of the red flag laws.

Not surprisingly, Senator Rubio, and new Attorney General William Barr refer to the red flag laws as “compromise gun laws.” But there’s no compromise about it. These laws are designed to make registration and confiscation easy. The background check expansion puts more gun owners on a national registry list, and red flag laws enable law enforcement to take the guns of any person they wish.

It might shock some people to consider how these laws might be abused. But it’s easy enough to understand that an anonymous tip is not documented. There is no paper trail leading to the person who made the anonymous tip. That means anyone could make the call. It could be a judge, a police officer. It could be anyone living in any state.

Notice how these two laws are perfectly designed to work together. The background check expansion gives red flag laws more power to reach into your gun safe.

We need to start confronting so-called conservatives to defend the Constitution and reject these new anti-Constitutional laws.

  1. Time for Little Marco to go! We need a true Conservative that will uphold the Constitution to run against and beat this little spineless, back stabbing politician.

  2. Quit using scare tactics in your articles. Ut insults our intelligence. Tge house did not just pass a law, that indicates that it is now a fine deal, they passed a bill that they knew would never become law in order to say we are trying to do something and the Republicans are blocking us. Report the truth and leave the spin for the enemy.

  3. I am a lifelong resident of a state that relies heavily on tourism for it’s income. Having been raised in a state that a majority of it’s citizens reside in rural settings, I am daily aware of the importance of every citizens right to keep and bear arms.
I was taught to shoot by my grandfather at a very early age. I was a gun owner, by the age of 10. Guns are still needed by myself and my neighbors, daily. They are vital for protection from reptiles, predators (both animal & human), and those who make and use drugs. In today’s world, my world, one can’t depend of the legal system to protect life and property. There aren’t enough police to patrol the physical area that it encompasses. It may take 30 to 45 minutes for an officer to respond to evens “local” call, let alone one on the outskirts of their jurisdiction. Those outlying calls may take an hour or more. In that world where there is an absence of law enforcement, it is up to the individual to protect themselves. A right, guaranteed under our plan for government, the Constitution. A plan that is “Not Outdated” and is still working.

  4. Too many spineless republicans and RINO”s
Americans prepare, know your RINO”S and Major Liberals, the minor liberals will run for the hills.

  5. President Trump turned his back on 5 million legal gun owners and NO ONE IS FIXING the voter fraud, so tell me how is he going to win I really CAN NOT SEE IT. Vice President Pence asking Germany to invade Russian waters, Pence Asked Merkel to Provoke Russia by Sending Warships to Crimea, shows HOW BAD AMERICA IS FALLING. it is really sickening. Interesting that Petro Oleksiyovych Poroshenko allows NAZI symbolism on his military equipment. Of course NATO IS ON THIS SIDE. garbage, cause we are allowing the take over of the USA without a fight while our leaders borrow money from the world bank, billions for Israel, who owns the banks and we, taxpayers pay interest on the loan. all the while we waste more money on NATO and try to START a war with Russia BECAUSE OF THE LIES from the Zionist, EU controlled UK. President Trump is compromised, He validated the RED FLAG laws that are setting the stage for the disarming of legal gun owners,by stating,” take the guns first, then let the courts sort it out later,” all the while Senator Feinstein is grinning at the table like a Joker. GARBAGE HAS MANY FACES. Western Media like to lie about, forget history, Russia remembers and has holidays about remembering how they defeated the NAZI Machine. I hope you realize that this AG Barr is another Zionist sell out and he is ANTI GUN. nothing WILL HAPPEN TO CLINTON because the Clintons have knowledge of what other so called leaders did with six years gas tax back in the 1980s. Donald Trump has a decades-long history of doing business with mobsters from both the Italian and Jewish mafias. Trump was 1 of only 2 real estate moguls in all of New York City who allowed organized crime families to purchase hundreds of millions of dollars in Trump properties using anonymous shell companies. D.J. Trump’s dirty real estate deals with Russian mafia, NOT Leadership of Russia, and other Zionist criminals in the 1980s. Laundering 13 percent gasoline tax, 6 years of multiple gas stations in the tri-state area, washed through large high rise New York Real estate, properties, these criminal birds have flown in the same flocks, not to mention flew on Epstein’s plane, too.

  6. I always knew Rubio was a wuss,,, & Trump better get control of the
    R I N Os, or he might be a one term pres…& we don’t want that, right…!

  7. If President Trump goes along with this red flag stuff than he is going against our constitution. The people should start calling him Caveman. All he does is tweet and caves in on every issue.

  8. The only scare tactics is coming from those who want to take our guns away. Ralm Emanuel and bloody Chicago, or DemoCommunist Detroit, and Islamapolas (Minneapolis) home of Ilhan Omar, San Francisco Nancy Pelosi’s hometown. These are the results of Gun Grabbers crime spiraling out of control. Murder rates up assault, and home invasions through the roof. A 63 yearold veterin gunned down by fascist Police using a anonymous RedFlag tip. Unverified without due process. No Van the Gestapo tactics of Red Flag Gun Confiscation os the Gun Grabbers idea of saving society from all those evil guns!!!

  9. Rubio broke his oath of office by failing to defend and protect the Constitution. Remove him from office for Willful Neglect of Statutory Duty!

  10. It’s time to fire all the crooked ones out of congress and senators.,

  11. Rubio is a skunk. An anti 2nd amendment, open borders, man who claims he is a Republican. Well maybe but he seems like a traitor. Open borders and disarming legal, lawful taxpayers is flat wrong. Being more concerned with illegals and criminals is wrong and traitorous
