The Democratic Party has long enjoyed near monolithic voting from minorities. It’s been that way for so long that minority voters have grown complacent. Hillary won the black vote by an 80 percent margin over Trump in 2016. Obama won the black vote over Romney by a 91 percent margin rate.
That’s exactly why the Black Guns Matter movement is a desperately needed breath of fresh air. This is a program that aims to arm and train minorities in urban neighborhoods to help combat crime and many other problems. It’s also leading a lot of minority communities down the path to conservatism. It’s an amazing thing, and you need to learn all about it right now.
Who Is Maj Toure?
Many people were introduced to Maj Toure for the first time at CPAC. He did a brief interview where he explained his movement, Black Guns Matter, and why their work is so important for both Republicans and urban America.
His concept is simple. He tours neighborhoods that have high rates of violence, crime, gun control and what he calls “slave mentality.” He hosts instructional courses to introduce people of these neighborhoods to self-defense and firearms. In addition to basic weapons training, they learn de-escalation techniques and a slew of means to protect themselves from inner-city violence.
At the same time, Black Guns Matter exposes urban Americans to raw conservatism. As Toure put it, the Democrats are winning when it comes to engaging urban America with liaisons. He aims to lead the pack of conservative liaisons who can educate inner city voters about the tenets of conservatism and the art of self-reliance to groups who have been victimized by Democrats for generations.
The Battle for Hearts and Minds
This is no small thing. Toure is completely correct in his thinking. While liberal programs have largely failed urban America, they have served as a means to create lasting dialogue between urban communities and Democrats. The reason the left is able to claim being the philosophy for minorities is because they have actively engaged with these groups much better than the right has. There’s no mincing words. Republicans are failing in urban America, and it’s nobody’s fault but our own.
The key to success has already been outlined by Black Guns Matter. Toure is igniting conservatism in these neighborhoods with a practical, hands on approach. Self-defense is a top priority for people in crime-riddled areas. He empowers them with that self-defense and helps them identify and articulate conservative ideologies they already hold.
The entire point of the program is to genuinely help people while simultaneously engaging in education of conservatism. If Republicans engaged at all the way Toure does, the Democrats would lose their hold over minority voters overnight.
Making a Difference
This is something every conservative needs to take more seriously. If you want to fight gun control, the best way is to actively demonstrate how the 2nd Amendment is helping people in the worst crime areas. If we can educate, arm and train the countless good citizens in these areas, crime will fall. We all know that. It creates hard proof that gun control is the wrong way to go.
Just as importantly, the method actively helps people in need. Reducing urban crime is one of the most important ways to fight poverty and the myriad social problems holding urban neighborhoods back. Kids who aren’t worried about their safety can do better in school and lead better lives.
That’s just one example. Anyone who understands conservatism can see how easily and rapidly urban communities can turn towards prosperity with just a few key changes. Self-defense is the key to empowerment (real empowerment and not whatever nonsense liberals are spewing). Empowerment leads to all levels of self-sufficiency. Only then can struggling Americans find prosperity.
If doing these good works also helps urban Americans come to the truth and see the benefits of conservative ideology, we win on three fronts. That’s the template that Toure and Black Guns Matter have created for the rest of us.
It’s time to commit. For some, that means donating money to programs like this that can turn the tide in liberally controlled areas. For others it means getting off the couch and participating. Regardless, it is only through tireless, relentless effort that we can defeat the growing doctrine of the left and keep America free.
Malcolm X had the arming of the Black Man/Women as one of his priorities in life. I have seen the racism of the NRA 1st hand when i tried to get them to have a Native speak about gun control for usa did that to all of us after so-called ‘Indian Wars.’ They not only refused but immediately reviewed favorbly in editorial a book by a racist woman titled “The 2nd Amendment & Anglo-American Rights”.
