You know the mainstream media loves to spin everything, and when they can’t, they lean on selective reporting to manipulate the masses. Well, they’ve been caught once again. In one of the most recent mass murders, a man in South Carolina took a handful of lives. You didn’t hear about it because it didn’t involve a gun. If anything, it’s strong evidence that most citizens should exercise their 2nd Amendment rights more often. Here’s what you need to know.
What Happened
Last week, a man by the name of Lovequawn Scott was arrested and charged with four murders. By classic definitions, this would be considered a mass killing. The four slain were all family members: his two grandparents, aunt and cousin. They were 72, 69, 42 and 15 years of age.
What makes this story interesting was the murder weapon. It was a pair of dumbbells. Note: all four of the victims were of an age where we might expect them to be able to defend themselves from blunt-force weapons. It seems they needed something to even the odds in this case.
Prior to the murders, Scott has had a long career of crossing the law. Last year, he was ejected from Coastal Carolina University. He was caught possessing schedule IV drugs, trespassing and unlawfully carrying firearms. Even before then, he had numerous altercations with the police and had been tied to multiple burglaries, illegal interactions with firearms and drug possession. In short, this was a man who was banned from carrying a firearm on multiple levels. The law did absolutely nothing to prevent his killing spree.
Media Silence
You might think that the murder weapon would be enough to make this story viral. After all, how many times have you heard of a mass killing committed with free weights? If it wasn’t so serious, it would make for an interesting death in a slasher movie. And yet, this is likely the first you’ve heard of this story. In fact, if you Google Lovequawn Scott, you won’t find any reporting done by any major news network. The closest is a short blurb covered by a local ABC station. Even Fox News is nowhere to be found on this.
You already know why this is the case. This story doesn’t fit the media’s narrative. Perhaps if the murderer was white, they would be willing to use it to continue their unilateral attack on all things white and male.
More to the point, this event shows that guns aren’t really the problem. Mass killings can and will happen regardless of firearm legislation. In fact, there’s an aspect of this story that isn’t sensational or interesting at all. Blunt weapons kill more Americans every year than so-called assault rifles. This is true for single homicides and mass murder alike. Even bare hands are statistically deadlier than assault rifles.
What’s the Point?
Obviously, the media plays these games for power, but such a simple assessment is unfair and of limited use. Really, proponents of the gun-control narrative fall into two camps. The first consists of people who have put their eggs in the left’s political basket. They expect Democrats to ultimately amass uncontested power and they want to be in those good graces.
Still, many agents of mainstream media fall into the second camp. They genuinely believe that guns are the problem. These are the reporters who claim to suffer from PTSD after a trip to the gun range. They are bonafide millennials who have been indoctrinated in the narrative. And, they are far more dangerous than those simply playing power games. The believers are the fanatics, and they are the ones who more readily ignore basic facts and simple truths.
At the risk of quoting Sun Tzu, if you want to protect your 2nd Amendment rights, you need to understand your enemy. Exposing corrupt journalists is one thing, and when done it usually creates turnover.
The real challenge is overcoming the willful ignorance of leftist fanatics. They are the ones who squashed CDC research that showed guns save far more lives than they take. They are the ones who push the fake “gun show loophole.” They actively want you to be disarmed because they have no conception of gun safety, basic responsibility or the importance of agency for American citizens.

Obviously, free weights out to be outlawed, or, at least, highly regulated, in view of the heinousness of the crime this cretin committed. It is a terrible thing these weights were responsible for!! Absolutely outlaw them, or make potential purchasers obtain either a “concealed weights” permit, and pay $300-400.00 for a special “concealed/open carry of weights” permit.. (NOTE: preceeding was sarcastic, not serious). Anyone with a head on their shoulders and a “lick of sense” (as my mother would say), ought to know that those weights (JUST LIKE RIFLES, PISTOLS, AND SHOTGUNS) are inanimate objects and can’t do either good or evil by themselves. Each requires an individual to operate the weapon. While we are at it, what about those who drink and drive? Why don’t we blame the car for the accident, or (perish the thought) blame the booze for the accident? Makes just as much sense as blaming the rifle or the pistol for the killing.

“How much to renew my concealed weights permit?” “Depends, how much weight are we talking about?”
The mainstream media was outed long ago as only reporting what promotes the political agenda of those in charge rarely is actual news reported if it does not support their agenda.
For example that truck attack that killed 84 and injured 202 was hardly mentioned as was the mass train stabbing that killed over 30 as neither incident involved guns.
They have one incident involving a gun with two victims (they called it three as the media counted the criminal as one of his own victims for some reason) and they carry on for months successfully confusing those who do not pay close attention into thinking that they were reporting about MULTIPLE incidents instead of just one.
They even went so far as to call a standoff with police and a homeowner they were trying to evict a SCHOOL SHOOTING when it was over two miles away just to inflate the statistics. They used the excuse that the OVERLY PARANOID school officials put the school in “lock-down” to call it a school shooting as if the completely surrounded individual who was REFUSING to leave their home was going to flee to the school and attack the students.
There are more homicides in the USA every year by blunt objects than by rifles. ,5 year average has approx. 375 by rifle and 450 by hammers, bats, crowbars, etc. There are about 3,500 homicides/year by knives.
