Good Buy or Bad Buy? An Honest Review of the New Glock 19X

No two guns and no two shooters are the same. One brand that has been able to satisfy the needs of many different types of firearms owners is the Austrian gun manufacturer, Glock. Glock handguns are light, durable, reliable, and fairly inexpensive compared to other high-quality brands. What they lack in style and flare, they make up for in practicality.

Probably one of the best things about the Glock brand is their interchangeability of parts. There are a number of different slides, clip types, and sites that can be fitted to your preferences. This is especially helpful in the area of comfort vs concealability.

People who carry concealed in public need their guns to be compact and to stow comfortably to maintain the element of surprise. And those who do not conceal their weapon are probably much more concerned about how it feels in their hand while shooting. With the Glock brand, you can strike a balance between these two concerns that suits you best.

Now, it bears mentioning that the wild popularity of the Glock brand had led the manufacturer to offer a wide range of boutique specialty parts and fan-boy extras with price points that make about as much sense as the price you pay for an Apple computer. Often times, you’re just paying to be part of a specialized collectors club.

If you’re in the market for a Glock, it’s a good idea to shop around. Here’s the Honest Outlaw with his review of the new Glock 19X.

  1. “Clip types???” What kind of self respecting gun website doesn’t know the difference between a clip and a magazine? SMDH

    1. Indeed.

“There are a number of different slides, clip types, and” and? and that is where I stopped reading.

  2. It’s 2018. You are still bitching about the high price of Apple computers? Maybe you need to get out of the bunker once in awhile. If your time is not valuable, you can piss it away trying to make your Windows computer work. Why do you imagine there are so IT professionals making large salaries? Because Windows networks need constant attention because of the inherent flaws. When is the last time you heard of a virus attacking Macintosh computers? I didn’t think so. Your Apple-bashing is as outdated as bell bottoms and platform shoes. While you are at it, why not a snotty remark about President Trump? I bet you even kneel before the national anthem. You dummy!

  3. You had me until the part about clip types. Paper clips, Enbloc clips, what?

  4. G locks are in the same EXACT class as hipoint. If there’s one in the chamber,it’s ready to fire. No safety and often fires when dropped. Sometimes won’t fire in cold weather.and no longer allowed by many law enforcement agencies. And we no longer take them in on trade.

  5. When there’s one in the Chamber it’s cocked all the time. We’ve had law enforcement try to put down an injured deer in cold weather and only slightly dent the primers ; only to pull out there backup revolves to do the job.

  6. The author use the word clip instead of magazine. Glock is don’t use clips M1 Garands do and other assorted firearms can you stripper clips to load them but not a Glock they use magazines. That right there tells you a lot about the author of the article and his knowledge. I’ve been at Smith for many years Glock is the most reliable pistol on the market right out of the box. I haven’t had a chance to go over This 19X But Anyone who is a real shooter that does any type of regular shooting will laugh at someone trying to write an article using the word clip. women were clips in their hair that Gun takes magazines

Just because someone writes an article people Always remember that doesn’t mean they know what they’re talking about

  7. Forgive my punctuation I have to use voice text and this thing doesn’t understand my accent that well

  8. Honest Outlaw just got American gun news deleated from my contact list I can’t trust a gun review done by somebody that calls a magazine, “mag”. a clip. Nice try at pretending you know about guns.

  9. To add to nonsense (in addition to the “clips” nonsense), not everyone who purchases a Glock for self-defense purposes is going to carry and conceal it. If one wants a “bedside” gun, this might be a good choice, given its longer (Glock 17) grip length. The shorter (Glock 19) slide wouldn’t be an issue in that situation either. And perhaps. the 19X is a good choice if someone simply likes Glocks and wants something different, as the 19X is the first Glock available from the factory with a slide that’s not black (and the pistol case is also the first one to be issued in other-than-black),

Very sad article. I will be unsubscribing.

  10. I’ve been around more than 70 years and over those years there were a LOT of guns sold with “clips”, what is referred to now as “magazines”. I was at a gun show not long ago where there were new old stock 5 and 10 shot bottom feed “clips” for .22 rifles. These were still in the original package stating they were “5 round clip”, or a “10 Round Clip” one for a Western Field and the other for a Savage Rifle. “Magazines” are also the name for locations where large caches of ammunition are stored on Naval Ships. So, go a little easy on the young man, he may know more than you think. Every once in a while someone tries to reinvent the English language out of necessity or because it’s cool and that term sticks from what has been heard from others.

  11. This glock has it backwards. It should be a 17 slide with a 19 grip. it isn’t slide length that affects concealability it’s grip length.
