Biden’s Rumored VP Pick Stacey Adams has a Long History of Voting for Anti-Gun Legislation

With the Presidential election approaching, gun owners should be especially aware of who former Vice President Joe Biden picks to be his running mate. While Biden is not anti-Second Amendment, we all know Biden isn’t really the one in charge. For now his campaign handlers are, but if he wins the White House his Vice President will be the one who is really running the show.

So far he’s interviewed Kamala Harris, Elizabeth Warren, Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer, among others. The front runner is rumored to be failed Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams. Before she ran for Governor, Abrams was a Congresswoman in the Georgia State Assembly. During her time there she championed pervasive gun control.

Larry Keane of Ammoland writes:

Abrams spent a decade in the Georgia state legislature, including six years as Democratic minority leader, where she championed gun control. She introduced gun confiscation legislation deemed some of the strictest gun regulation in the nation.

Abrams lost to Republican Brian Kemp in the 2018 election, but still claims to this day she is the rightful Governor of The Peach Tree state. She told a group at a Houston fundraiser, “I’m here to tell you a secret that makes Breitbart and Tucker Carlson go crazy: We won. I am not delusional. I know I am not the governor of Georgia – possibly yet.”

Keane wrote for The National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) about Biden’s choice that what he called the “Veepstakes” will be “decided by gun control.”

In preparation for the Veepstakes Abrams became a member of Everytown for Gun Safety which is funded by billionaire Michael Bloomberg. That explains a lot. Abrams did numerous TV interviews when Bloomberg was campaigning in which she ran interference for the billionaire over sexual harassment settlements at his corporation.

While Abrams is most likely is at the top of Biden’s list of possible Vice President candidates, he failed to endorse her for the job when asked directly by an MSNBC host in an interview earlier this week. That public shunning has led to speculation about other candidates. Considering that Biden has already promised he will pick a woman to join his 2020 ticket, we likely know who else he is considering. NSSF details where those candidates stand on gun control legislation.

  • Abrams championed state policies that would “turn law-abiding Georgians into felons by forcing them to either turn in modern sporting rifles or destroy them.”
  • Failed presidential candidate U.S Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) would “push for new taxes on American sportsmen and women and supports reinstating the 1994 Assault Weapons Ban.”
  • Failed 2020 presidential candidate Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) agrees with waving “the magic wand of “Executive Action” to enact sweeping gun control policies if she could, including limiting the number of firearms a licensed retailer could sell each year and removing existing legal protections for firearm manufacturers.”

As the NSSF notes:

Law-abiding Americans who value the Second Amendment, including those who recently jumped off the fence to legally purchase their first firearm, understand any of these potential vice-presidential nominees are problematic when paired with Biden on the 2020 ticket.

Abrams along with Moms Demand Action Founder Shannon Watts talk a good game about protecting the Second Amendment but have little regard for it.

During a Twitter townhall, Watts said, “We know firearms don’t cause hate crimes…” Abrams nodded in agreement as Watts: “We need to make certain that we have an assault weapons ban put back in place. It has worked before.”

Biden told a cheering crowd several months ago, “We choose truth over facts.” The NRA Institute for Legislative Action noted that statement is worse than it first seemed. While amusing, notes the NRA-ILA, “the truth that matters to many in the anti-gun movement isn’t the truth but their truth.”

Abrams has made the lie that more gun-control works her truth. Speaking with Watts, she said, “There is no one who believes in eroding the Second Amendment.” She’s right. She’s taken a “wrecking ball to it.”
