The ban on bump stocks has now gone into effect, and while many gun owners are unconcerned about losing the ability to own this accessory, it would appear that the move is emboldening gun control advocates. As manufacturers, private owners, and merchants destroy or turn in their bump stocks, Presidential aspirant, Corey Booker is promising radical, further gun control measures should he be elected.
His idea is that all gun owners should obtain a license from the federal government rather than only from state or local government. According to Booker, the process would involve an interview and safety training.
Anyone who knows anything about government will find this to be a startling idea. Such a program would require new offices in every state and many counties. New government gun ranges would have to be built. And these facilities would have to be staffed by armed government employees (read bureaucrat-controlled goons).
What’s more, every gun owner would not only instantly be put on a national registry, but their activity at their local federal gun training station would be recorded. There would be a local federal gun licensing office with detailed information about who owns what guns and where they live.
This is not an attempt to make America a safer place. It is an attempt to create an infrastructure that enables the federal government to issue, revoke, and deny anyone their right to own a gun.
Booker released a statement in which he said, “I am sick and tired of hearing thoughts and prayers for the communities that have been shattered by gun violence — it is time for bold action.”
“Bold action” is code for taking your rights away. What this program would do is override any current license or permit legal gun owners may have. For example, you may own a hunting rifle now. You may have owned it for many years. You may be very proficient with it and you may have never had an accident. However- when you go to apply for your federal gun license- the issuing entity may decide that there’s something fishy about you. Maybe they don’t like the way you wear your jeans or your choice of hat. They could simply deny your federal license and you may never get a good explanation as to why you were denied.
The decision to issue a gun license could be as arbitrary as it is in New York. We all know that it’s much easier to get a concealed carry permit or other firearms permissions in some parts of the country than in others. If you can’t get a gun in California because your jeans aren’t pressed straight enough, you can move to Texas and have a much better chance.
But if this federal gun licensing plan goes into effect, you get one chance to legally own a gun- or to legally keep the guns you legally own right now.
And if you think that would be the end of the horrors of a national gun licensing program, think again. Once the federal government has such a program in place, the next president to come along could use it to impose even stricter gun control measures.
Booker has vowed to “bring the fight” to the NRA. He told CBS This Morning, “We must step up and deal with something that is crushing communities, destroying lives and really just tearing apart families.”
The plan would impose universal background checks on anyone buying a gun anywhere in the country. It would re-institute the ban on high capacity magazines and “assault weapons.” It would also give new power and funding to the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
But the plan would have a long way to go when it comes to winning over the Democrat House, and an even steeper climb to surmount Republican opposition.
While the full plan has yet to be set forth, we can tell you this; with the combination of a national registry, and the institution of red flag laws in areas all over the country- guns will be able to be legally confiscated for little to no substantial reason.
If Donald Trump does not win reelection and this Booker bill passes- you can bet that they will be confiscating weapons in locations all over the country.
The good news is that Booker is not looking like he’ll gain enough popularity to make it to the primaries. Democrat candidates are looking pretty weak across the board. But the real danger is that Trump supporters will be overconfident and not show up to the polls.
Having lived in nj while clown Booker was mayor of Newark, the killing field of nj, I can say that his influence over anyone except a few crack addicts is nil.
He is the poster child for what happens when race race given priority over ability. Any “policy statements” from him have the weight of feathers in a huricane.

If a Center/Right leaning Conservative ( mostly Libertarian or Republican ) person doesn’t like something, they don’t buy that thing or engage in that activity. If a Leftist Liberal ( mostly Democrat ) person doesn’t like something, they try and get it banned from sale so nobody can buy it or get the activity taken away so nobody can do it.
