If you saw the latest Democratic debate, then it’s time to acknowledge something. The left has not abandoned their desire to take your guns. They want you disarmed, and you know exactly why.
What’s worse is that they just proved they don’t need to control Congress to succeed in this goal. There are plenty of ways to take guns away without formally banning them. Sit up. You need to understand these threats.
Finances
You’ve seen this attack leveled at the NRA. If banks and insurers won’t work with a company, that company can’t really stay open. The left has seen that this pressure has had ill effects on the NRA, so they’re expanding the strategy.
It would be one thing if they were just signing petitions and asking banks and other companies not to do business with gun sellers. The problem is that this effort is being spearheaded by politicians.
Robert O’Rourke is one of those spearheads. In a recent tweet, he suggested that the government should shut down financial institutions that process gun sales. Think about that for a minute. He wants to use the government to bully banks that aren’t breaking any laws.
Perhaps worse is that elected politicians are playing this game too. In New York and California, the state governments are issuing decrees that they won’t contract with any companies that are tied to gun sales.
In essence, they’ll shut down banks that simply process gun sales. The banks aren’t actually supporting or participating in the process. They’re just allowing credit or debit transactions to take place.
It’s important to understand that zero laws have been passed in this effort. It’s entirely executive action. It’s definitely illegal, but the left doesn’t care, and it is effectively hampering gun sales around the country. This isn’t something they could do. It’s what they’re doing right now.
Taxes
Still, the banks aren’t completely caving to the anti-gun crowd. That’s why Elizabeth Warren is championing a second approach. Her idea is to “sin” tax weapons and/or ammunition. Think about it. If it costs $10 a round to use a firearm, you’re going to see fewer people exercising their 2nd Amendment rights. Very few of us can afford extortion just to buy a box of ammo.
What’s particularly frustrating about this strategy is that it circumvents the federal government. At least for now, the idea of a gun or ammo tax getting through the Senate is laughable. We also have a President who would veto such a bill. So, the left is going to state and local governments. They can levy these taxes at the point of sale.
It’s possible that some of these taxes could ultimately be defeated in judicial review, but that’s actually a long shot. The President is on the side of state and local governments being able to levy sales taxes however they like. The only real way to prevent the 2nd Amendment from being taxed into oblivion is to take back state and local legislatures. We can’t allow a single leftist to hold office in this country.
Tyranny
The final means to take away your guns is the scariest, and not in the hypothetical sense. In the last Democratic debate, O’Rourke and Harris both expressed a desire to defy the constitution and unilaterally confiscate guns via executive power. These are leading candidates who have verbalized their desire to use tyranny to infringe on the rights of citizens. The rest of the Democrats on the stage had nothing to say about it. That’s where we are.
We’re one election away from the Democrats using government force to confiscate weapons. They don’t care about the bloodshed that would ensue. They don’t care how much it will hurt the country. They care only about power.
There are two things we have to do to stop this from happening. First, we have to win the next election. They’ll have a much harder time usurping the federal government under another four years of President Trump.
More importantly, we have to stop any attempt at creating a gun registry. That also means opposing universal background checks (since they can’t be instituted without a registry). Eventually, a leftist will win the presidency. When that happens, we don’t want them to already have a list of targets ready to go.
The fight for our rights is here. The time for complacency has passed. You can get busy making sure we win the next election, or you can regret inaction when they come for your guns. It’s up to you.
Seeing as how Elizabeth ‘Fauxcahontas’ Warren wants to use the government’s ‘Power to Tax’ (Article I, Section 8, Clause 1: Constitution of the United States) to attack all U.S. citizens’ ‘Right to Keep and Bear Arms’, it’s way past time to attack the 1937 Supreme Court decision [‘Sonzinsky v. United States’, 300 U.S. 506 (1937)] which ruled Taxation of a Constitutional Right (2nd Amendment) was ‘constitutional’ … when in fact the decision was itself UNCONSTITUTIONAL … and demand reversal of the decision the Charles Evans Hughes Supreme Court (1930-1941) handed Democrat Franklin Delano Roosevelt as a way to placate Roosevelt for their finding six of his eight ‘New Deal’ programs to be unconstitutional … despite their being passed by the Democrat majority Congress.
BTW, the ‘Sonzinsky’ was itself used a mere two years later to support another UNCONSTITUTIONAL decision: ‘U.S. v. Miller and Layton’, 307 U.S., 174, 26 F.Supp. 1002.
Seeing as how ‘Sonzinsky’ is the ‘linchpin’¹ to all federal gun control laws, its demise (reversal on grounds of unconstitutionality) would effectively be the removal of the ‘cornerstone’ of the entire gun control movement and, hopefully, the entire movement’s collapse … seeing as how they’ve used all subsequent federal District, Appellate and Supreme Court decisions tracking back to ‘Sonzinsky’ as their basis to seek even more gun control laws.

Hitler said that the first requirement to control of a country was to disarm the citizen. He, as well as the stupid democrats, forgot that the original weapon was the hands, then came stones, clubs, knives, etc. There is no ‘gun violence’. The violence is PEOPLE violence. If guns are taken by the ‘wanna be communists”, AKA democrats, the previous methods will be applied to the fools.

He needs to be reminded of the true definition of the word shall, it leaves no squiggle room, none, no ifs ,but, maybes, or perhaps. Shutting down business engaged in legal transactions, next they would be after news and any other organizations that don’t follow the “Partiya” line while the apparatchik make life miserable for everybody, BLM included.
As I’ve said a thousand times, I would love to see who these volunteers are, that are going to go house to house, and try to take law abiding citizens property. How many people will die, innocent people, while criminals continue to reek havoc on society.
The Democrats own Chicago. How about disarming the gang bangers. Let’s see how effective that is. Who’s going to go door- to- door? If they actually care about black lives mattering, this should be done immediately. Any talk about gun control should be ended until the real problems are confronted. A farmer, rancher, home owner or sportsman isn’t the problem, but they are the gun grabbers targets.
